Debra Brewer Hayes  Recently named to Lawdragon's 2007 list of "500 Leading Plaintiffs' Lawyers in America," Debra has been practicing complex commercial litigation for over 20 years. After graduating with honors from undergraduate and law school, Debra worked for a business litigation firm in Houston, Texas. After five years, she began focusing her efforts on representing consumers and individuals who were mislead or defrauded.
Debra has been involved in many precedent setting cases on the subject of arbitration. She successfully argued to Judge Posner in the 7th Circuit regarding the effect of an arbitration clause. She was co-lead counsel on a case representing Physicians and Healthcare Providers before the Washington Supreme Court when it rendered a decision striking the arbitration clause from the Providers' contract.
Debra is and has been actively involved in preparing and trying securities arbitration cases. The successful resolution on behalf of many of her clients is a direct result of her tenacity and legal skill.
Debra appeared on a Panel at the Texas State Bar Convention discussing corporate liability from the Plaintiff's perspective. She is the author of "Organizing and Computerizing Your Staff for Mass Litigation." She is an active member of PIABA which is the Public Investors Section of the American Bar Association. She is also an active member of the American Association for Justice, Houston and Texas Bar Associations, and the American Bar Association.
